Last season, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, Salt scored 435 runs in 12 matches at an average of almost 40 and a strike rate of 182. He was the second highest run scorer for his team. He had scored four half-centuries in the season. It was a surprising decision by KKR to release him before the auction. RCB had spent Rs 11.50 crore to buy Salt in the auction.

This clearly shows how important he is going to be for the team in the upcoming season. Along with this, RCB had also spent an amount of Rs 8.75 crore for Livingstone, who was continuously struggling in the IPL with Punjab Kings. RCB has spent Rs 2.60 crore to buy England's young sensation Bethel.
