These days the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup is being played in Malaysia. As expected, the Indian team has performed well so far and is continuously progressing. Many young players are taking part in this tournament, who will make their mark in international cricket in the future, but among them all, one player is already in the headlines. The name is- Limansa Tillakaratne, who is a part of the Sri Lankan cricket team. This player has cricket in his blood because his father is none other than former Sri Lankan captain and legendary all-rounder Tillakaratne Dilshan.
The Sri Lankan cricket team had a strong start in the Under-19 World Cup. In the first match of the group stage, this team defeated Malaysia for just 23 runs and won by 139 runs. Then in the next match, he bowled out West Indies for 85 runs and won the match by 81 runs. Although Sri Lanka had to face defeat in the third match against India, spinner Limansa Tillakaratne had an important contribution in all three matches and he took many wickets.
However, no one should be surprised because his father Tillakaratne Dilshan himself was a good spin all-rounder, who snatched the T20 World Cup title in 2014 from the entire Team India including MS Dhoni. Speaking to ICC, only 16 year old Limansa said that cricket is in her blood, it is in her family. She tells that her father Dilshan also taught her to play his famous 'Dil-Scoop' and told her exactly how to play a shot after watching the ball till the last moment.

Limansa, the eldest of two brothers and two sisters, says that in her free time she watches videos of her father's batting, bowling and fielding. Explosive opener Tillakaratne Dilshan was the first to train his daughter and she continues to take tips from him even today. However, there is a big difference between Limansa and her father. While Tillakaratne is a Sri Lankan citizen, his daughter Limansa is an Australian citizen.
If we talk about Limansa's performance in this World Cup, she has wreaked havoc with her spin bowling. He has played 3 matches of the group stage so far and has taken a total of 6 victims by taking 2-2 wickets in all three. Out of these, she was successful in leading the team to victory in 2 matches but the team lost against India. However, despite the strength of other bowlers including Limansa, the Indian batting could only score 119 runs.
