Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh shattered an all-time record as he became India's leading wicket-taker in T20Is, surpassing Yuzvendra Chahal, during the India vs England 1st T20I on January 23 (Wednesday) at Kolkata's Eden Gardens Stadium.

Leading India’s pace attack in Mohammed Shami’s absence, Arshdeep started the match with 95 wickets, just one behind Chahal’s tally of 96 wickets. However, he dismissed England openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett in the first and third overs to claim the record.

Currently at 97 wickets, he is on the verge of becoming the first Indian bowler to cross the 100-wicket milestone in the shortest format.
