Rohit Sharma is continuously struggling in red ball cricket. In the last 15 Test innings, only 164 runs were scored at an average of 10.93. Questions started being raised on him after his poor performance against Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia. After this he turned to domestic cricket to regain his form. The Indian captain appeared in the Ranji match against Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday 23 January after almost 10 years. But here too his struggle continued. He was out after scoring just 3 runs. Apart from him, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who showed his strength with the bat in Australia, also could not play in this match.
Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bat first. After this, India's opening pair i.e. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma came to start the innings for Mumbai. But the bowlers of Jammu and Kashmir troubled him a lot. Especially in front of 6 feet 4 inches tall Umar Nazir, he looked absolutely helpless. He was beaten several times in front of Umar. Rohit was finding it difficult to read his ball. The result was that after bowling 12 dot balls, Umar got him out on the 13th ball.
