Indian bowlers bowled amazingly in the first T20 match against England in Kolkata. On the basis of excellent bowling by Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakraborty, Team India bowled out England for just 132 runs. While chasing the small target of 133 runs, Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson gave a stormy start to Team India. Samson scored 22 runs in the second over of India's innings. He thrashed England's fast bowler Gus Atkinson, who took a hat-trick in Test cricket.
Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma started the Indian innings. In the first over, Sanju played all the balls and scored only one run. But his bat created a storm in the second over. Gus Atkinson bowled the second over of the Indian innings. But this over proved very costly for Atkinson. Sanju hit fours on the first two balls of Atkinson. The third ball was a dot. After this Samson hit a six on the fourth ball. Samson scored fours on the fifth and sixth balls. In this way Sanju scored a total of 22 runs in a single over.

Samson made a great start to his innings but he could not convert it into a big score. Despite a fast start, Sanju Samson returned to the pavilion early. Sanju scored 26 runs in 20 balls with the help of four fours and one six. Joffra Archer got him caught by Atkinson on his own ball.
Gus Atkinson is playing only his fourth T20 International match. He still lacks experience in this format. But he has proved himself in Test cricket. He has also taken a hat-trick in this biggest format of cricket. This fast bowler of England has achieved this feat only in the end of 2024. The second match of the three-match series against England and New Zealand was played in Wellington. In this, he created history by taking a hat-trick by dismissing three New Zealand batsmen Nathan Smith, Matt Henry and Tim Southee one after the other.
