Jadeja has taken 542 wickets at 23.88, scoring 7466 runs at 43.66 with 34 five-wicket hauls, 13 centuries, and 39 fifties in 135 first-class matches. Jadeja and Pant will be joined by veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara in the must-win match for both Group D teams.

Both Delhi and Saurashtra, who finished fourth and fifth in the last Elite Group, have only one win each, and they have a long way to go against table-toppers Tamil Nadu and Chandigarh. Only the top two teams from each of the four groups will proceed to the quarterfinal round.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal will participate in Mumbai's Ranji match against Jammu and Kashmir at the Mumbai Cricket Association ground in BKC. However, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will miss the next round of the Ranji Trophy since they are still recovering from injuries.
