India and England are competing in the five T20Is, with the first match taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sanju Samson has been India’s best batter in the last few series, with three centuries in seven innings. The wicket-keeper amassed a three-digit score in the final game of the series against Bangladesh and accumulated two tons against South Africa. Parthiv Patel is a big admirer of the opening batsman and made a big prediction about the player.

“Sanju Samson is dealing in hundreds at the moment. I feel he will be the Man of the series against England,” Parthiv Patel said on Star Sports.

Samson has been in the news for the wrong reasons in the last week. He failed to make it to the ODI team for three matches against the Jos Buttler-led unit and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The selectors preferred Rishabh Pant over him after the player didn’t play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The BCCI was miffed with Sanju for missing the premier ODI domestic tournament.

Samson was asked to report for a camp by the Kerala Cricket Association, but he didn’t go due to an injury. However, the decision-makers didn’t like his reason and dropped him, giving his place to a youngster. With no ODI experience under his belt for a long time, the selectors went ahead with Pant and KL Rahul.
