The second round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 is going to start from January 23. This is the first time that Ranji Trophy is being played in two parts. In the first round of Ranji Trophy, all the teams played five matches each. Now in the second round each team will play 2-2 matches. During this period, 11 players of Team India will be seen playing for their respective teams. In fact, after the disappointing tour of Australia, BCCI has adopted a strict attitude and made it mandatory for any player to play domestic cricket if he is fit. For this reason, many big players of Team India have decided to play in the matches starting from January 23, in which the names of 11 big players are included.

Rohit will play Ranji Trophy after 10 years

Mumbai will have to face a tough challenge from Jammu and Kashmir in the next match, which is currently in second place in Elite Group A. Rohit Sharma will be seen playing in this match, which will be his first Ranji match after 10 years. However, Rohit will play under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane. Yashasvi Jaiswal will also enter this match, who can open with Rohit. Star players like Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dubey and Shardul Thakur are also included in the Mumbai team for this match.

Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant face to face

In Rajkot, Delhi will face two-time winners Saurashtra, in which Rishabh Pant will be seen playing for the Delhi team. He will face Ravindra Jadeja, who is part of the Saurashtra team. Cheteshwar Pujara and Navdeep Saini will also be seen in this match. It is very important for both the teams to win this match of Group D. Currently Delhi is at fourth place and Saurashtra is at fifth place. Tamil Nadu and Chandigarh are at the first two positions in this group.

Everyone's eyes are on Shubman Gill too

Indian ODI team vice-captain Shubman Gill is also going to play Ranji this time. He is part of the Punjab team. Punjab has so far won only one win in five matches in Group C and is in fifth place. In such a situation, everyone's eyes are going to be on Shubhman Gill. His team will face Karnataka at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In this match, Punjab will miss Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh who are included in Team India for the T20 series against England. On the other hand, Karnataka will get strength from the return of Devdutt Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna.
