The ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 is less than a month away from start as all teams, except hosts Pakistan, have announced their preliminary squads.
While the tournament will be played from February 19 till March 9 in Pakistan and the UAE, it has been marred with a fresh controversy. In the latest move, for the marquee tournament.
However, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was left fuming on knowing this and claimed that BCCI is getting 'cricket into politics'. Speaking with news agency IANS, a PCB official said, 'BCCI is bringing politics into cricket, which is not at all good for the game. They refused to travel to Pakistan. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule: ICC to BCCI
Additionally, the PCB official also spoke of the apex cricketing body, ICC coming out in support of Pakistan, an ICC official has now dropped a remark on the same. "It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official said as per A-Sports.
However, in the process, none of the BCCI officials have come out to speak in regards to the same. Coming to the tournament, India and Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh. While the hosts will play the tournament opener against New Zealand in Karachi, India will kickstart their camapign against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
