Hobart Hurricanes defeated Sydney Sixers by 12 runs in the Big Bash League qualifier match. With this victory, Hobart team reached the final of Big Bash. Batting first, Hobart Hurricanes scored 173 runs in 20 overs, in reply Sydney Sixers could score only 161 runs. Sydney Sixers could have won this match at one time but one of their mistakes caused huge loss to the team. Actually, Sydney Sixers did not score a single run in 35 balls against Hobart. This team played 35 balls dot, i.e. approximately 6 overs and this is the reason why this team had to face defeat in the end.
Sydney Sixers had to score 21 runs in the last over, so they had a chance to win the match till the last 6 balls, but Hobart's fast bowler Chris Jordan bowled brilliantly and completely eliminated Sydney Sixers from the match. Jordan gave only 8 runs in the last over. He also hit a four on the last ball, by then the match was out of Sydney's hands.

It is a big thing for Hobart Hurricanes to reach the finals because after 7 years this team has got entry in the title battle. Earlier in the year 2018, this team had reached the finals but had to face defeat. Hobart has never won the Big Bash League title, but looking at the form this team is in this time, it seems that its wait may be over.
The script of victory for Hobart Hurricanes was written by its bowlers. Especially Riley Meredith bowled excellently in the powerplay. This player took a total of 2 wickets but the bigger thing was that Meredith bowled 11 dot balls. Apart from Meredith, Cameron Gannon bowled 8 ball dots and took 2 wickets for just 10 runs in 3 overs. Nathan Ellis also dotted 5 balls. Sydney batsmen played too many dot balls, which is no less than a crime in T20 cricket. However, due to the dismissal of Josh Phillippe and Jack Edwards in the first 8 balls, there was pressure on the Sydney Sixers batsmen. Captain Henrique could also score only 1 run. After this, Jordan Silk and Curtis Patterson took over the innings but during this time they played a lot of dot balls and its side effect was seen in the end.
