The trumpet of Champions Trophy has been blown. But the India-Pakistan war is not ending. New reports are coming out one after the other regarding the discord between PCB and BCCI. The latest case is actually related to Team India's jersey in the ICC Champions Trophy. There is a report that Team India is in no mood to wear the jersey prepared for the tournament, on which Pakistan is written below the logo. There is news that PCB has expressed objection to it. And, the ICC is expected to take proper action in this matter.
PCB is already hurt by the report of Rohit Sharma not going to Pakistan for the captain's meet. And, now the report of BCCI removing Pakistan's name from the Indian team's jersey has given a double blow to it. IANS quoted a PCB official and wrote that the Pakistan board is unhappy with India's stand. The PCB official said that BCCI is mixing politics in cricket, which is not good from the sporting point of view.
Usually, what happens in an ICC tournament is that before its start, the captain of each team takes part in the opening ceremony and gets photographed with the trophy. They have a group photo session. The name of the host country is below the tournament logo on the jersey of each team. But, according to the report, BCCI does not seem to accept either of these things.
According to the report, India is neither sending captain Rohit Sharma to Pakistan for the opening ceremony of the tournament nor will it write the name of Pakistan, which is the host nation of the Champions Trophy, on its jersey. Pakistan now has hope from ICC in this whole matter. He is hoping that ICC will intervene in this and stop India from doing anything as is being reported.
Now the question is what will happen next? Will Team India really be seen in a different jersey, which will not have Pakistan's name on it? Hopefully the answer will be available in the next few days. For now, let us tell you that India is going to play all its matches in Dubai under the hybrid model, it is certain. India will also play its match with Pakistan in the Champions Trophy in Dubai.
