When Pant was asked about the mega auction, he said, 'I had only one tension and that was Punjab. He had the biggest purse, Rs 112 crore. When Punjab bought Shreyas Iyer, I felt that I can go to LSG. Anything can happen in the auction so I thought it better to just wait and pray.

Even though Rishabh Pant took a dig at the Punjab Kings team, Punjab Kings shared a post on social media congratulating Pant on becoming the captain.
