'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar attended the grand program organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Wankhede Stadium. Sachin Tendulkar has many special memories associated with this stadium. He won the 2011 World Cup on this ground. It was also at Wankhede that Sachin played the last match of his international career. It has been 11 years since Sachin stayed away from international cricket. Now after 11 years he has revealed a big secret. Tendulkar has now told why he chose this stadium for his last match. The reason for this is Sachin's mother Rajni Tendulkar.

Last match played in Wankhede because of mother

Sachin Tendulkar started international cricket in the year 1989 and ended his 24-year long career in the year 2013. Sachin told that his mother had never seen him playing cricket (live). Sachin wanted his mother Rajni Tendulkar to watch his last international game. For this he had also requested BCCI. After this, in 2013, a Test series between West Indies and India was played at Sachin's home ground in Mumbai, which was Sachin's 200th and last Test.

Sachin had made a special appeal to BCCI

Talking about this, Tendulkar said, 'I played cricket for so many years. About 30 years. 24 years for India. My mother had never seen me play. At that time (at the time of Sachin's retirement) my mother's health was not so good that she could go anywhere other than Wankhede Stadium to watch me play. I wanted mother to see the match why I have been going to different places for 24 years. Due to this, Sachin requested BCCI and his last match was played at Wankhede in Mumbai.

Sachin had scored 74 runs in the last match

The test which started on 14 November 2013 ended on 16 November. West Indies had scored 182 runs in the first innings and 187 runs in the second innings. India scored 495 runs in its first innings and won the match by an innings and 126 runs. Sachin had scored 74 runs in 118 balls in his last match.
