After disappointing show in their last two Test series, including the tour of Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) just released a ten-point guideline for the Indian cricket team and support personnel.
All state associations hosting games in India’s forthcoming limited-overs series have received these latest policies.
Players were not allowed to visit by their own means was a main instruction. The BCCI ordered that the support staff and whole team should always be on the road together-from hotel to venue to between cities.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will observe the complete new instructions provided and is serving as first match host for the five-match T20I series between India and England at Eden Gardens on January 22.
Ganguly said, quoted by PTI, that in line with the 10-point policy of the BCCI for players, the Cricket Association of Bengal has not organized any separate means of transport for individual players. The Indian team has been assigned only a team bus. The cricketers won’t have their personal vehicles."
We must follow the rules that absolutely say that every player is supposed to travel with the club to and for games and training sessions.
Furthermore, the has placed a maximum on the time family members can be with players on international trips. Family trip is restricted to two weeks for trips lasting 45 days or more.
The board has also underlined the need of players giving domestic cricket due consideration in order to qualify for selection and central contracts. Though Rohit Sharma, Test and ODI captain, has shown interest in competing in the next Ranji Trophy with players like Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli has chosen to miss it owing to a “neck injury.”
