Rishabh Pant has become the captain of Lucknow Supergiants team. Lucknow Supergiants announced their new captain for IPL 2025. Lucknow was captained by KL Rahul in the last three seasons but he was released by the team before this season. The team bet on Rishabh Pant and he was bought at a record-breaking price of Rs 27 crores. Apart from being the most expensive player in IPL history, Pant has also become the most expensive captain.

'Pant will become the greatest IPL captain'

Lucknow Supergiants team owner Sanjeev Goenka held a press conference with Rishabh Pant and told that this explosive wicketkeeper-batsman will command the team. Along with this announcement, Sanjeev Goenka claimed that Rishabh Pant will prove to be the greatest captain not only of this team but of the entire IPL. Rishabh Pant has good experience of captaining in IPL. He became the captain of Delhi Capitals in the year 2021. But after 2024, their paths diverged from Delhi. After this he came to Lucknow team and now his aim will be to make the team champion.
