Whatever be the sport, players' emotions often overpower them and they burst out openly in front of everyone. Especially when it comes to anger and frustration, it cannot be hidden. This is very common in tennis courts, where many superstars and new players are sometimes seen shouting at the ball-boy/girl and sometimes arguing with the chair umpire. If even this does not happen then they start taking out their anger on their racket. But Russian star Daniil Medvedev became so angry during a match that he broke a camera by hitting it with his racket and now he has been fined heavily for his bad behaviour.
The thing is that the beginning of 2025 was not good for 28 year old tennis star Medvedev. In the very first Grand Slam of the year, Australian Open, he had to face defeat in the second round and was out of the Slam. This Russian player had won in the first round itself in a tough match that lasted for 5 sets. But in the second round also the match lasted for 5 sets and this time they got defeated. America's Lerner Tian had defeated him 6-3 7-6 6-7 1-6 7-6 in a very tough match.
World Rank 5 Medvedev's behavior on the court continued to deteriorate as he found himself struggling against a new player who was only 19 years old. Then finally he lost his temper and started venting his anger at the small camera installed in the net, holding the racket. Medvedev did this act, which was apparently recorded on camera, in a court filled with thousands of spectators and during a match being played live on television. The camera was definitely damaged but his racket also broke.

If this was not enough, after the defeat the Russian players did not even turn up for the press conference, which is mandatory for every player according to the rules of the tournament, whether they win or lose. After this incident, the organizers of the Australian Open have now imposed a heavy fine on Medvedev. After being found guilty of violating various rules of the Code of Conduct, a fine of 76 thousand US dollars i.e. about Rs 66 lakh has been imposed on Medvedev. 2021 US Open champion Medvedev had reached the Australian Open finals thrice in the last four years but faced defeat every time.
