Delhi: West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican created history against Pakistan on Sunday and performed brilliantly by taking seven wickets. Jomel became the first West Indies spinner to take 5 wickets in a Test match on Pakistani soil. He broke the 66-year-old record of Sunny Ramadhin, who had taken 4 wickets for 25 runs in 1959. Warrican played an important role in restricting Pakistan's second innings to 157 runs on the third day. He took seven wickets for 32 runs in 18 overs.

Warrican did not give Pakistan's middle order and lower order batsmen a chance to survive. Pakistan lost its seven wickets in just 51 runs.

He dismissed Saud Shakeel (2), Mohammad Rizwan (2), Kamran Ghulam (27), Agha Salman (14), Noman Ali (2), Sajid Khan (5) and Khurram Shahzad (0).

Ravi Ratnayake (Sri Lanka) tops the list of best performances by visiting bowlers in Test cricket in Pakistan, who made a record of 8/83 in the Sialkot Test in 1985. After him, Kapil Dev (India) gave a brilliant performance of 8/85 in the Lahore Test in 1983. Recently, Jomel Warrican of West Indies achieved third position in this list by registering figures of 7/32 in the Multan Test in 2025.
