BCCI is continuously taking strict steps to improve the performance of the team. First he held a review meeting with the team's head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma. Then issued 10 guidelines to increase unity and discipline in the team. The board has asked to follow it strictly. One of these rules is regarding the players' family. BCCI has set a limit on players traveling with their families on foreign tours. Let us know who in the Indian team travels the most with their families and who will be harmed the most by this rule?
Players of the Indian team have been going on foreign tours with their families in the past also. But earlier this used to happen very rarely. It is believed that after Virat Kohli became the captain, this trend increased significantly in the team. He supports traveling with children and wife. Therefore, he has been accompanying his wife Anushka Sharma on almost every foreign tour.
After Virat, the current team captain Rohit Sharma has also been supporting this thing. He also often likes to travel with his family. Rohit has said in many of his interviews that when his wife and daughter live together, he feels quite relaxed during big series. His wife Ritika Sajdeh has been seen supporting him in the stands during many series. But now both the players will get less or no support from their families on their foreign tours.
Jasprit Bumrah also travels often with his family. However, his wife works as a presenter in ICC events and for this she is seen with Bumrah during big tournaments. That means it is not going to make any difference to them. KL Rahul's wife Athiya Shetty also travels with him. They may also suffer losses due to BCCI rules.
Apart from the senior players, the young player of the team, Shubman Gill has been taking his family with him the most. His sister or parents or all three stay together on foreign tours. Shubman's sister Shahneel had accompanied him on the Zimbabwe tour. Arshdeep Singh's parents have also traveled with him many times. He was with him during the T20 World Cup.
According to BCCI rules, if the Indian team goes on a foreign tour for 45 days or more, then the wife, partner or family of any player cannot stay with them on that tour for more than 14 days. If a player's family stays with him for longer than that, the board will not bear his expenses. Not only this, permission will be given only once for these 14 days and during this period the board will only pay their living expenses.
