Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) Kolkata achieved the target of 162 runs given by Lucknow by losing just two wickets in 15.4 overs. Star wicketkeeper and opening batsman Philip Salt (89 off 47 balls) played the match-winning innings for KKR. Captain Shreyas Iyer (38 off 30 balls) also made an important contribution to his team's victory. In bowling, star pacer Mitchell Starc also benefited Kolkata by taking three wickets.
In reply, from KKR, both the openers, Philip Salt and Sunil Narine opened the batting for their team and scored 22 runs in the first over off debutant fast bowler Shemar Joseph. At Eden Gardens, Shemar got pace and swing in the first over, but he could not manage his length well. He bowled many extra balls (1 bye, 1 leg bye, 6 wides and 2 no balls) in his very first over. His over was of 10 balls, after which captain KL Rahul removed him from direct attack.

Easy win for Kolkata Knight Riders
After this, fast bowler Mohsin Khan sent Narine (6 runs on 6 balls) to the pavilion in the second over (6 runs on 6 balls) and Angreesh Raghuvanshi (7 runs on 6 balls) in the fourth over and it was expected that there would be pressure on Kolkata, but captain Shreyas Iyer sent him to the pavilion in the third over. Gave an easy victory to Kolkata Knight Riders by playing a strong innings for the wicket.

The loss for Lucknow was that they did not score much in the powerplay and middle overs. For KKR, fast bowler Mitchell Starc took three wickets for 28 runs. Quinton de Kock (10 off 8 balls), Deepak Hooda (8 off 10 balls), KL Rahul (39 off 27 balls), Ayush Badoni (29 off 27 balls), Marcus Stoinis (10 off 5 balls), Arshad Khan (5 ) on 4 balls), and Krunal Pandya (7* on 8 balls) played important innings for their team.
