Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) Kolkata achieved the target of 162 runs given by Lucknow by losing just two wickets in 15.4 overs. Star wicketkeeper and opening batsman Philip Salt (89 off 47 balls) played the match-winning innings for KKR. Captain Shreyas Iyer (38 off 30 balls) also made an important contribution to his team's victory. In bowling, star pacer Mitchell Starc also benefited Kolkata by taking three wickets.

In reply, from KKR, both the openers, Philip Salt and Sunil Narine opened the batting for their team and scored 22 runs in the first over off debutant fast bowler Shemar Joseph. After this, fast bowler Mohsin Khan sent Narine (6 runs on 6 balls) to the pavilion in the second over (6 runs on 6 balls) and Angreesh Raghuvanshi (7 runs on 6 balls) in the fourth over and it was expected that there would be pressure on Kolkata, but captain Shreyas Iyer sent him to the pavilion in the third over. Gave an easy victory to Kolkata Knight Riders by playing a strong innings for the wicket.
