Delhi: England batsman James Vince has decided to play for Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, after which he has decided to quit his first-class cricket. This decision was taken after the England Cricket Board did not give No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the English players in the PSL.

ECB had announced in November

In November 2024, the ECB announced that the PSL would coincide with the opening round of the County Championship, due to which players would not be allowed to participate in the league.

Karachi Kings had retained

James Vince, who was Hampshire's captain and was intended to lead the team this season, was retained by the Karachi Kings ahead of the PSL draft. Vince said in his statement that he wants to continue his excellent performance in T20 cricket for Hampshire and hopes to take the team's success further this season.

Was captain of Hampshire in 2015

Vince, who has captained Hampshire since 2015, is currently playing for the Gulf Giants in the ILT20 tournament in the UAE.

Hampshire's cricket director Giles White expressed respect for Vince's decision. In his career, Vince has scored 13,340 runs in 216 first-class matches at an average of 40, which includes 30 centuries.
