The charismatic journey of Karun Nair and his team continues. Vidarbha cricket team, which has been in the news for its excellent play in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, has made its place in the semi-finals with another spectacular win. The team captained by Karun Nair defeated Maharashtra by a comfortable margin of 69 runs in the second semi-final of the tournament and secured a place in the title match. Captain Nair once again played an excellent inning and scored unbeaten 88 runs, taking the team to a big score of 380 runs. Nair could not score a century this time but before him, the opening pair of Dhruv Shorey and Yash Rathod definitely scored centuries for the team. Vidarbha will face Karnataka in the final.
The first semi-final of the tournament was played in Vadodara on Wednesday, January 15, in which Karnataka defeated the defending champion Haryana. Then on Thursday, January 16, Vidarbha and Maharashtra faced each other in the second semi-final. Once again everyone's eyes were on what wonders Vidarbha captain Karun Nair would do with his bat. Nair had already made a splash with his batting in this tournament and had entered this match after scoring 4 consecutive centuries. He once again came close to scoring a century but it could not happen.
