Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has described Virat Kohli's performance in Australia as unlike Kohli. On his YouTube channel, Lee claimed that Kohli had a bad Test series as a result of the superb bowling strategy by Australia.
Kohli only managed to score 190 runs in 5 Tests matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
After he scored a century in the series opener in Perth, Kohli's form saw a steep decline as he kept edging balls outside the off stumps to wither the keeper or the slips. Since the series, Kohli has been facing criticism for failing to control his ability to play balls while not being certain.
Lee claimed that during his century at the Perth stadium, he was hoping about the prospects of Kohli, even though the batter had little chances of success after that.
'For me, it was very Un-Kohli-like, you obviously get batsmen nick off occasionally or theyll do something and theyll make those differences in their actions and techniques but the thing with Virat Kohli. Unfortunately for him, he kept getting out the same way through the whole Test series. I think back to Perth, the second innings where he made a magnificent 100 and I thought okay, he's in going himself in the first innings nicked off but now he's back to his best, 100,' Lee said on his YouTube channel.
Lee gave credit to Australia for having a brilliant strategy for Virat Kohli. Seamer Scott Boland had had a discussion with Virat Kohli in public, where Boland disclosed that Australia had a pre-determined strategy for him.
