Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, father of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has been a veteran player of the Indian cricket team. He was the youngest captain of Team India. But BCCI had done a great injustice to this legendary cricketer, known as Nawab Pataudi. After this he had to take the court route. He had filed a case against the same board for which he once played cricket. However, the decision of this case could not be reached during his tenure. After all, why did Nawab Pataudi file a case against BCCI? Let us know.

Why did Nawab Pataudi file the case?

In fact, Nawab Pataudi had dragged BCCI, which is considered to be the richest board in cricket, to the court over money matters. He had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court in April 2011, claiming that the board had not paid Rs 1.16 crore. According to Pataudi, he was made a consultant in the Governing Council of IPL.

On October 1, 2007, a 5-year agreement was signed between BCCI and him for the post of consultant, under which Rs 1 crore was to be given every year. Whereas in order to terminate the contract midway, it was necessary to follow the terms of the agreement. But BCCI did not do this. Saif Ali Khan's father had also told that under this agreement he had received Rs 50 lakh in August 2008.

Later in October 2010, the BCCI asked him to continue on the Governing Council under the new IPL rules, in which there was no mention of money. The result was that the old agreement automatically expired. But his remaining money was not given. Nor did the board pay taxes as per the conditions. Therefore, he had dragged BCCI to the court to pay a total of Rs 1.16 crore including tax.
