Star Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has said that he will miss playing in India during future ICC events. India and Pakistan recently reached an agreement while finalising the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, that both countries will play their matches at a neutral venue during tournaments being hosted by each other.
Hence, Recently, Fakhar Zaman shared his views on the agreement between the two cricketing boards and said that they will miss playing in India in future ICC events but expressed excitement about playing vs India in Dubai in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Yes, we will definitely miss (playing in India) as we enjoyed a lot during our visit there for the ODI World Cup 2023. We were delighted with the kind of support and the hospitality we got there. The locals gave us a warm welcome when we went to Hyderabad for the first time, they all showered their love on us. Yes, we will miss it all. If India had come to Pakistan, we wouldve given them an even grander welcome and hospitality but they are not coming. Its fine, but were excited to play against them in Dubai," Zaman told India Todays sister channel Sports Tak.
India and Pakistan dont hold bilateral cricketing relations since 2012, when Pakistan last travelled to India for the ODI and T20I series. On the other hand, India last visited Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2008 and havent played any cricket in the neighbouring country since the 2008 Mumbai Terror attacks.
India to play all of their matches in Dubai during Champions Trophy 2025
However, Pakistan continued to play in India as they visited the country for the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 and the ODI World Cup 2023. But with India not travelling to Pakistan, the two boards reached a consensus not to play in each others countries during a recent meeting with the ICC (International Cricket Council). Meanwhile, the Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to begin from February 19 and will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and UAE.
India will play all of their matches in Dubai, including the semi-final and the final, if they reach that far ahead in the tournament.
