Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shikhar Dhawan might be sidelined for a week or 10 days due to a shoulder injury. He was absent from the recent PBKS vs RR match. The PBKS camp has confirmed his injury. Additionally, Dhawan appears to be facing challenges with his form.

PBKS' Sanjay Bangar Gave A Big Update About Shikhar Dhawan

The news was confirmed by PBKS Head of Cricket Development, Sanjay Bangar. He revealed: “Unfortunately, we missed out on having Shikhar because he has a shoulder injury. So, he’s likely to be out for a couple of days games I would say. Having an experienced opener, somebody like Shikhar, who has experience of playing on such wickets, becomes extremely crucial for the team.”We’ll have to wait and see how he responds to the treatment. At the moment, it seems that he could be out of action for at least 7-10 days,” he said in the post-match press conference after his team’s three-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals (RR) here. Shikhar Dhawan, PBKS vs GT, Impact Player If Shikhar Dhawan remains sidelined for a week, he might miss two PBKS home matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024: one against Mumbai Indians on April 18 and another against Gujarat Titans on April 21. Despite his recent struggles with the bat in IPL 2024, where Shikhar Dhawan has scored 152 runs from five innings at an average of 30.40 and a strike rate of 125.61, Dhawan's wealth of experience in the IPL will be sorely missed by Punjab Kings. His potential absence for the next two matches is expected to have an impact on the team's performance. Asked if the misfiring top-order batting is a cause for concern, he said: “In all the three games that we’ve played here (Mullanpur), in the first six overs, with the new ball, the wicket tends to jag a little bit, and there’s uneven bounce as well. So maybe that is another contributing factor." He added: “We obviously discuss the scoring options on such tracks, and that is where the boys are putting in a lot of effort. Currently, it’s not coming off, but I’m pretty sure that they’re just one knock away.”
