You must have seen many surprising incidents on the cricket field, but in the ongoing International League T20 tournament in UAE, something like this was seen which probably happened for the first time. In the fifth match of ILT20, the umpires did not allow Gulf Giants batsman Gerhard Erasmus to bat. Not only this, this player was thrown out of the field itself. The interesting thing is that Gerhard Erasmus was not even timed out. When he reached the field, the umpires told him that he could not bat in this match. Gerhard Erasmus had to leave the field and seeing all this, not only the Gulf Giants but also the veterans commenting in the match were surprised. Let us now tell you why Gerhard Erasmus was not allowed to bat?

Coach's mistake and loss of Gerhard Erasmus

Gerhard Erasmus was not allowed to bat because Gulf Giants head coach Andy Flower had made a huge mistake. Actually, in this match, Gulf Giants team had lost 8 wickets for 89 runs, so this team sent Gerhard Erasmus to the field as super sub but the fourth umpire stopped him to bat. Actually, there is a rule in this tournament that the head coach will give the name of the super sub in writing to the fourth umpire and Andy Flower did not do this. Flower is a very experienced and veteran coach and because of his mistake, Gerhard Erasmus could not bat. Flower tried to convince the fourth umpire for a long time but he could not get Gerhard Erasmus to bat.

Gulf Giants team lost

This mistake of Andy Flower cost the Gulf Giants team and the team had to face defeat. In this match, Desert Vipers restricted the Gulf team to just 119 runs. In reply, Desert Vipers achieved this target in 17.4 overs. The hero of Desert Vipers' victory was fast bowler Loki Ferguson, who took 3 wickets for 22 runs. While batting, Sherfane Rutherford scored unbeaten 40 runs in 18 balls.
