England has to play a five-match T20 series against the Indian team from January 22. After this both the teams will clash in the ODI series. Recently, England had announced its TA for the tour of India. Soon the England team will come to India, however, an England player is facing difficulties for the India tour. Actually, Saqib Mahmood has not yet been given visa to visit India. This is the third time when he did not get a visa to visit India.
There is about a week left for the start of the T-20 series between India and England. But till now England fast bowler Saqib Mahmood is waiting to get the visa. England has given him a place in their team for both T-20 and ODI series. However, his playing against India is in danger.
Saqib is originally from Pakistan. His parents belong to Pakistan. But Saqib was born in the United Kingdom and it was here that he played and learned cricket. This is not the first time that he has not got a visa to visit India. Earlier in the year 2024, when Lancashire Cricket Club had traveled to Bengaluru for pre-season practice, even then Shakib was not given a visa. While being a part of England Lions in 2019, Mahmood was to come to India but even then the fast bowler was not given a visa.
The England team will play eight consecutive matches on the India tour. First five T-20 matches and then three ODI matches. England's tour of India will begin with the first T20 in Kolkata on 22 January. After this, the second T20 will be played in Chennai on 25 January, the third T20 in Rajkot on 28 January, the fourth T20 in Pune on 31 January and the last T20 in Mumbai on 2 February. Then the first ODI will be played in Nagpur on 6 February, the second ODI will be played in Cuttack on 9 February and the third ODI will be played in Ahmedabad on 12 February.
