Yograj Singh, father of former Indian cricket team all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, had recently given an interview to Samdish Bhatia in which, Yograj had claimed that he had taken a gun to Kapil Dev's house and wanted to kill the former all-rounder. Yograj had revealed that he had taken this decision after Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi were dropped from the North Zone team.
Now the reaction of former captain Kapil Dev on this statement of Yograj has come to light and when journalists asked the veteran former captain about this, Kapil refused to recognize Yograj. The video of this reaction of Kapil is going viral on social media. In this video, when asked whether this incident is true, Kapil Dev asked – 'Who is Yograj Singh?'.
When the journalists clarified that Yograj is Yuvraj's father, Kapil Dev walked away from the journalists without answering the question. Yograj Singh revealed in the interview that he did not kill Kapil Dev because Kapil Dev's mother was present with him that day. Yograj said in “Unfiltered by Samdish”, “When Kapil Dev became the captain of India, North Zone and Haryana, he dropped me from the team without any reason. My wife (Yuvi's mother) wanted me to stay away from Kapil. I told him that I would teach this bloody man a lesson. I came out to Kapil's house and abused him a dozen times. That because of you I have lost a friend and you will have to pay the price for what you have done. I told him, 'I want to shoot you in the head, but I will not do that because you have a very holy mother, Which is standing here. I said to Shabnam, 'Let's go.'
Yograj also claimed that Bishan Singh Bedi and Kapil joined hands and conspired against him because he had close relations with former captain Sunil Gavaskar. Speaking further, he said, “These people, including Bishan Singh Bedi, conspired against me. I never forgave Bishan Singh Bedi. That man died on his bed. When I was thrown out, I spoke to Ravindra. Chadha, one of the selectors, told me that Bishan Singh Bedi (chief selector) did not want to select me because he thought I was Sunil Gavaskar's man and I was playing cricket in Mumbai.
