Delhi: All cricket lovers are waiting for the next season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After the mega auction held in November last year, people are excited to see their favorite teams in a new form. Although BCCI had already announced the dates of the upcoming two seasons of IPL, but now there has been a change in it. The IPL-2025 season will now start from March 21.

According to the report of Cricbuzz, the first match of IPL 2025 will be held at Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata. Now this league will start a week later than the date that was announced earlier. The final match will also be played in Kolkata on 25th May. Also, 74 matches will be played in IPL 2025 during this period. The dates of IPL matches may also be announced soon.

Reason for change

There are two main reasons for the change in IPL dates. The first reason is that the dates given earlier were only approximate, from which the IPL window was decided. The second reason is the broadcaster, who had appealed that there should be a little gap in the start of IPL. Actually, the Champions Trophy is ending on March 9 and only five days will be left for the start of IPL, which is not good for the broadcasting network.

There is no confusion regarding the match venue of IPL 2025. The first two matches will be held in Kolkata, where last season's champion team will be playing. Runner-up team Sunrisers Hyderabad will host two playoff matches.
