Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will start in March. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajiv Shukla announced this on Sunday. He told that IPL 2025 will start from March 23. This will be the 18th edition of IPL, which can prove to be an exciting season for cricket lovers.

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, “Devjit Saikia has been appointed as the new Secretary of BCCI and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia has been appointed as the Treasurer. Apart from this, IPA.L will start from March 23.”

For your information, let us tell you that a Special General Meeting (AGM) of BCCI was held on Sunday, in which many important decisions were taken. Rajeev Shukla told that the main issue of the meeting was to select the treasurer and secretary. She also informed that the venues for the Women's Premier League (WPL) have been decided and its official announcement will be made soon.

In the meeting, the new commissioner of IPL has also been appointed for one year. Devjit Saikia was elected as the new Secretary of BCCI and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia was elected as the Treasurer. Both were elected unopposed.

It is noteworthy that after Jay Shah took over as International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman on December 1, Devjit Saikia was working as the interim secretary of BCCI. Now he has been given the responsibility of full time secretary.

The Indian team is to participate in the ICC Trophy next month, but the team has not been announced yet. Before the Champions Trophy, T20 and ODI series will also be played against England. The team for the T20 series has been announced, while the ODI team is yet to be announced.

When Vice President Rajeev Shukla was asked about this, he told that the Indian team for the Champions Trophy will be selected in the meeting to be held on 18-19 January. Announcement of the team is also possible on the same day.
