Delhi: Yograj Singh, father of former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh, has made a shocking revelation about Kapil Dev in an interview on Sunday. Yograj told that when he was dropped from the Indian team, he angrily reached Kapil Dev's house and threatened to kill him. He said that he was dropped from the team under the leadership of Kapil Dev, due to which he was very angry.
Yograj said in 'Unfiltered by Samdish', “When Kapil Dev became the captain of India, North Zone and Haryana, he dropped me from the team without any concrete reason. My wife (Yuvraj's mother) wanted to ask questions to Kapil, but I said I will teach him a lesson.”
He said, “I took my pistol and reached Kapil's house in Sector-9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a lot and said that because of you I lost a friend. I wanted to shoot you in the head, but because of your mother I didn't do it.”
Yograj further said, “That day I decided that I will not play cricket, but Yuvraj will play. Bishan Singh Bedi and some other people had conspired against me. Bishan Singh Bedi (chief selector) did not select me in the team because he thought that I was Sunil Gavaskar's man and played cricket in Mumbai. I was very close to Gavaskar.” Yograj also said that he never forgave Bishan Singh Bedi.
