The stature and respect that Sachin Tendulkar has achieved in the world of cricket has not been achieved by any other player. It is a big thing for any player to be compared with a legend like Sachin Tendulkar. Same thing has happened with young England batsman Harry Brook. Former Team India coach Greg Chappell has compared him with Sachin Tendulkar. Looking at Brook's game and his attitude towards the game, Chappell has compared him with Sachin. He said that it is difficult for the bowlers to stop Brook.
Greg Chappell is a former Australian cricketer and former head coach of Team India. He has praised 25-year-old England player Harry Brook a lot. Chappell said, 'Harry Brook, a sensational batsman. I compare his performance and attitude with the great Sachin Tendulkar. Brook's early career statistics show that he could have left even India's Master Blaster behind in terms of impact at this level.
Chappell wrote in his column for the Sydney Morning Herald, 'At the age of just 25, Brook has become one of the most popular cricketers in the world. His batting style is simple but very effective. Like Tendulkar in his early years, Brook also does not roam around the crease much before bowling the ball.
He further wrote, 'A shocking story emerges when we compare his first 15 Test matches. Tendulkar scored 837 runs at an average of just under 40, which included two centuries. In contrast, Brook scored 1378 runs at an average of around 60, which included five centuries. To be honest, Sachin was still in his teenage years, while Brooke is in her mid-20s (25 years old). His ability to combine aggression and consistency makes him a nightmare for bowlers as, just like Tendulkar, he is extremely difficult to stop.
Harry started his Test career in 2022. He has played 24 tests so far. During this period, 8 centuries and 10 half centuries have come from his bat. On an average, he scores a century in every third Test. His highest score is 317 runs which he made against Pakistan in 2024. Brook has scored 2281 runs at an average of 58.5.
