These two BBL teams clashed on Sunday 12 January at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Melbourne Stars batted first and the team was all out after scoring 165 runs in 20 overs. Maxwell, who recently failed to make a place in Australia's Test team, is continuously venting his anger on the BBL bowlers and this time too the same thing happened, where he played a tremendous inning of 90 runs but could not score a century.

By the time Usama Mir was out in the 19th over, he had already made an important partnership of 81 runs with Maxwell in just 46 balls. Maxwell was out after scoring 90 runs in just 52 balls, which included 10 sixes and 4 fours.
