New Delhi: 14-year-old Mumbai opener Ira Jadhav became the first Indian to smash a triple century in U19 cricket on Sunday, December 12. Opening the batting for Mumbai, she scored an unbeaten 346 runs off 157 balls against Meghalaya with the help of 42 boundaries and 16 maximums.
Her sensational knock helped Mumbai to post a mammoth total of 563/3 in 50 overs. This is the highest score by an Indian women's domestic side across all tournaments and age groups.
She stitched a 274-run partnership for the second wicket with her skipper Hurley Gala, who also made 116 off 79 balls. After that, she forged another 186-run partnership with Diksha Pawar. Three bowlers from the Meghalaya team conceded 100 runs or more in the match. Jadhav also became the first Indian player to score a triple hundred across any BCCI-organised limited-overs tournament.
Alongside Anshu Nagar, she was the youngest player to register for the WPL 2025 auction but went unsold. After a few days, she was named among the standby players for India's Under-19 T20 World Cup squad that will travel to Malaysia.

'Jemimah Rodrigues is my idol': Ira Jadhav
Speaking in an interview with Opening Door Ira Jadhav said that Jemimah Rodrigues is her idol and she loves the way Jemimah handles her teammates. She further talked about her aim and said that she wants to represent India at the World Cup.
'There is one player who I think is my cricketing idol-Jemimah Rodrigues. I love the way she handles her teammates, the energy she gets into the team, her game, and her energy on the field. I am aiming for the National team. I also want to represent India at the World Cup' Ira said.
She also talked about the best moment in her short cricketing career and said 'It was the time I scored my first century (163) in a mixed team. This was in Pune a few years ago and the teams had a mix of boys and girls. That gave me the confidence that I could do well' Ira said on Opening Door.
