Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Perth Scorchers have been handed a major blow as they will miss the services of Australian pacer Jhye Richardson.
Richardson has opted out of the ongoing season of the T20 tournament as he has decided to undergo a shoulder surgery, thus bringing an end to his season early.
The Perth Scorchers are still in contention for the finals, currently placed fifth in the points table after eight matches. They are just a point shy of fourth-placed Brisbane Heat, with six points, having won three matches and lost five.
