Vijay Hazare Trophy has now reached the final stage. Every day some records are being made and broken in the tournament. Now a player has achieved the feat of scoring a century in his debut match. The name of this player is Arshin Kulkarni. Just 19 years old Arshin Kulkarni succeeded in making a mark while playing in his very first List A match. This young batsman from Maharashtra made his debut directly in the quarter-final match and played an important role in taking his team to a great score by scoring a century. However, one shortcoming in this innings was that he could not hit any six, for which he is known.
Arshin achieved the feat of scoring a century in the quarter-final match between Maharashtra and Punjab. Playing for Maharashtra, Arshin started slowly but then played a century. He completed his century by taking one run on the 129th ball. A total of 107 runs were scored in 137 balls. In this century innings, the 19 year old batsman batted at a strike rate of 78. Due to his inning, Maharashtra scored 275 runs after losing 6 wickets in 50 overs.
Kulkarni has played two matches in IPL but this is the first time he has got a chance to play in List A cricket (ODI). He took full advantage of this opportunity and scored a century in an important match like the quarter-finals. During this period, 14 boundaries came off his bat but there was not even a single six in it. This was the only thing missing in his innings. He hit 14 fours. Arshin was out as the sixth wicket in the 45th over.
While Kulkarni scored a brilliant century in his debut match, the bats of Rituraj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma, playing for Team India, remained silent. Any special miracle for their respective teams in the quarter final match between Maharashtra and Punjab.
Couldn't show. Maharashtra captain Ruturaj was out after scoring just five runs facing just five balls. Punjab captain Abhishek Sharma also disappointed with his performance. Abhishek returned to the pavilion cheaply after scoring 19 runs in 16 balls.
