‘This is scary…’ Jwala Gutta got angry on the statement ‘How long will you look at your wife’, scolded SN Subramanian a lot

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman SN Subramanian had suggested his employees to work 90 hours a week. He had also said that 'for how long will you keep looking at your wife' at home. Controversy has arisen over his statement. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone also took Subramanian to task on this matter. Whereas famous badminton player Jwala Gutta has also slammed Subramanian on his statement and has called his statement disappointing and scary.

Jwala Gutta said- This is scary

Jwala Gutta has expressed objection to Subramanian's statement. Enraged by Subramanian's statement, he slammed him and wrote in his X-post, 'I mean... first of all why shouldn't he stare at his wife... and why only on Sunday. It is sad and sometimes unbelievable that such educated and people in the highest positions of big organizations are not taking mental health and mental comfort seriously…and are giving such misogynistic (discriminatory towards women) statements and Exposing themselves so openly. This is disappointing and scary.

Subramanian had given this statement

Subramanian had recently asked his employees to work 90 hours a week and spend maximum time in the office. While talking to the employees, he had asked, 'What do you do sitting at home? How long can you keep staring at your wife? Come on, reach the office and start working. He further said, 'If you want to be on top in the world, you have to work 90 hours a week. Go ahead friends'.

The company came to the rescue of Subramanian

On one hand, Subramanian is facing criticism for his statement. On the other hand, L&T has come to his rescue. L&T said in a statement, 'At L&T, nation building is at the core of our mandate. We believe that the next 10 years belong to India, in which there is a need to work together to advance the development of the country and make it a developed nation. The statement given by our Chairman reflects this ambition. His comment emphasizes that extraordinary efforts are needed to achieve extraordinary results.
