Why couldn't the stadium glass be repaired?

Lack of budget has been cited as the biggest reason for the glass of St. George's Park Stadium not being repaired yet. Although this work is in the pipeline. On the other hand, recently repair work has been done on the roof of the stadium. In August 2024, the roof of one of the stands of the stadium was blown away due to a storm. The official looking after the maintenance of the stadium revealed that due to lack of funds, its repair work has not been done yet.

The officer further told about the glass panels installed in the stadium that they are not made of bulletproof glass but of safety glass. When a ball hits them, they break immediately. The officer further said that the cost of these mirrors is also very high. Right now the stadium does not even have enough budget to repair it. It is noteworthy that in such a situation, the work on the glass broken by Rinku Singh's six has not been done yet.

Rinku had apologized

During a T-20 match between India and South Africa in December 2023, Rinku Singh hit a long six off Aiden Markram's ball which hit the glass of the media box and the glass was broken. Then Rinku had also apologized for this.
