Delhi: Yuvraj Singh, considered one of the greatest cricketers of all time, was a powerful all-rounder and one of India's most reliable match-winners, especially in white-ball cricket. His role was very important in the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup.

Returning to the team after cancer

After the 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer (Stage-1). He underwent treatment for a tumor in his left lung and returned to the team in December 2012 after undergoing chemotherapy. However, he could not return to his old form. Due to this, he was not included in the team for the 2013 Champions Trophy.

When Virat Kohli became the captain, Yuvraj once again returned to the team. However, after poor performance in the Champions Trophy in 2017 and the West Indies tour, he was dropped from the team.

Former Indian cricketer and Yuvraj Singh's teammate Robin Uthappa, in an interview to Lallantop, talked about Yuvraj's comeback from cancer and compared Kohli's captaincy with Rohit Sharma.

Uthappa said, “Virat's captaincy style was different. According to him, it was important for every player to reach his level – be it fitness, eating habits or consent.
