There is always some drama happening in Bangladesh Premier League. Sometimes players collide with each other and sometimes there is an uproar over the umpire's decisions. Now once again something has happened which has surprised everyone. Due to a mistake by the non-striker, the strike batsman was given out. Yes, this shocking scene was seen in the match between Rangpur Riders and Fortune Barishal, where Nurul Hasan hit the bowler but in the process Mahedi Hasan was given out, which confused everyone.
This incident was seen in the 13th match of BPL on Thursday 9 January in Sylhet. In response to the target of 198 runs given by Barishal, Rangpur had scored 159 runs after losing 4 wickets in 18 overs. In the next 2 overs the team needed 39 runs to win. Khushdil Shah hit brilliant sixes on the first and second balls of the 19th over but he was caught out on the third ball. In such a situation, new batsman Mahedi Hasan came to the crease. However, he was out on the very first ball and that too without any fault of his own.
What happened was that Mahedi could not play the fourth ball of Jahandad Khan's over properly and the ball went up in the air there. In such a situation, Noorul Hasan, who was on non-strike, immediately ran for runs. Bowler Jahandad Khan, sensing the opportunity of a catch, also ran to catch the ball but then he collided with Nurul and both of them narrowly escaped falling. But due to this collision, Jahandad's chance to take the catch slipped away. In such a situation, Barishal players including Jahandad appealed to the umpire.
We dont see that too often!

This appeal was regarding obstruction in fielding, in which if found guilty the batsman is given out. The umpire sought advice from the TV umpire, who gave the decision in favor of the fielding team. That means the batsman is out. Now everyone thought that Noorul would be given out because he was the one who hit, but Mahedi Hasan, who was batting, was out. Actually, the reason for this is the law of cricket, according to article 37.3.1, “If the ball is not a no-ball, then the striker will be given out for obstructing the fielding, if any batsman makes any effort to prevent the ball from being caught. "Intentionally obstructing or diverting attention."
