Now about a month is left for the Champions Trophy to start. Before this, the Indian team will have only one chance to prepare and that is the ODI series against England. It is believed that during this time many players will be given a chance to show their strength, on the basis of which the team will be selected for the Champions Trophy. But there are also 5 star players who will not be able to show their talent in this series. Let us know who those players are and why they will not get a chance to play in this ODI series.
A 3-match ODI series is to be played between India and England. It will start from 6th February and the last match will be played on 12th February. During this time, Jasprit Bumrah, who created a stir during the recent Australia tour, will remain out of the team. He got injured during the last Test played in Sydney. For this reason he will stay away from cricket for the time being. He has been scanned but no latest updates regarding the injury have been revealed yet. But according to the report, Bumrah is in danger of playing in the Champions Trophy.
Apart from Bumrah, it has been decided to give rest to Mohammad Siraj, one of the main fast bowlers of the team, after the long Test series. Therefore, he will also not be seen in this series. Now he can be seen directly in the Champions Trophy. This is the matter of injured and tired players. Apart from these, there are 3 players who are completely fit and fresh. Despite this, he will not get a chance to show his strength in the ODI series against England. That means his chances of being selected in the Champions Trophy are negligible.
Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav also has no hope of getting a chance in the ODI series against England. The biggest reason behind this is his performance. He was an important part of India's ODI team till the 2023 ODI World Cup. But could not perform anything special. Therefore, after the defeat in the final, he was dropped from the team. According to media reports, now he is not in the management plans in ODI format. Even during the Sri Lanka tour, he played only T20 matches. His performance in the domestic ODI tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy was also not good. He batted in 4 innings, in which he could score only 38 runs. During this period he was out on zero twice.
Whereas Sanju Samson, who is performing brilliantly in T20, does not see any hope of being given a chance in the ODI series. He played the last ODI match about 13 months ago in December 2023. Apart from this, he plays as a wicketkeeper-batsman, for which Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are said to be the first choices of BCCI. That means Samson is also not in the plans for the ODI team. Ishan Kishan is also looking for an opportunity but like Samson, he also plays as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He has also scored 316 runs at an average of 45 in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Despite this, it is difficult for him to get a chance at the moment. Let us tell you that Kishan has been out of Team India for about 1.5 years.
