Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) have failed to perform well in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). The team has been able to win only 2 matches out of 6 matches. Punjab also had to face a crushing defeat in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday. In such a situation, the team has now suffered a big shock. Worrying news is coming about Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan was dropped from the team due to injury in the match against Rajasthan. According to a recent report, Shikhar may be out of the next few matches due to injury.

In the absence of Dhawan, star all-rounder Sam Curran took command of the Punjab team against Rajasthan. Regarding Dhawan's injury, Punjab Kings coach Sanjay Bangar said, “Shikhar was naturally missing. His shoulder got injured. I think he may be out of the team for the next few matches. “We will have to wait and see how his treatment goes, but right now it looks like he may be out for the next 7 to 10 days.”

Let us tell you that in the next 10 days, Punjab will play its next two matches on home ground. The first match will be against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday 18 April. After this, the next match will be played against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday 21st April.

Performance of Punjab Kings in IPL 2024

In the current season, the condition of Punjab Kings looks very bad. The team has played 6 matches in the season, out of which it has won only 2. He started IPL 2024 with a win. In the first match, Punjab defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 4 wickets. After this, the team lost two matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, in the next match, this team defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 3 wickets, but Punjab lost two matches against Hyderabad and Rajasthan.

Now it remains to be seen when left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be able to make a place in the playing eleven.
