The Afghan Cricket Board has taken a wonderful decision to raise the flag of Afghanistan on the soil of Pakistan. Afghanistan cricket team has included a veteran player from Pakistan in its team. We are talking about Younis Khan, whom Afghanistan Cricket Board has made its mentor. Younis Khan will guide the Afghan team during the Champions Trophy. Afghanistan team will play its matches in Pakistan only. This team has to play its matches in Karachi and Lahore and Younis Khan has played a lot of cricket on these grounds and he will share his experience with the Afghanistan team.
Younis Khan has become the mentor of Afghanistan but the challenge before him is very big. Afghanistan has to face teams like South Africa, Australia and England in the league stage. All three are top teams and it will not be so easy to defeat them. But the Afghanistan team can perform charisma, just like they did in the World Cup 2023. In the World Cup 2023, Afghanistan team won 4 out of 9 matches. Even at that time, Afghanistan had appointed Indian legend Ajay Jadeja as its mentor for his good performance on Indian soil. This time, to perform well in Pakistan, he has considered it appropriate to take the help of Younis Khan.
Younis Khan has played professional cricket for more than 20 years. This veteran player scored 10099 runs in 118 test matches for Pakistan, in which he scored 34 centuries with his bat. Apart from this, Younis Khan scored 7249 runs in 265 ODI matches at an average of more than 31, which included 7 centuries. Younis Khan scored a total of 68 centuries in his professional career. This veteran can help Afghanistan a lot in the Champions Trophy. Afghanistan team is participating in this tournament for the first time.
