A former Indian bowler, who has struggled with injuries like Bumrah, told TOI that everything will depend on the final investigation of the injury. If there is no stress fracture, Bumrah will return to the field by the end of January. This means that he can be seen playing in the Champions Trophy.

If this happens you may be out for 6 months

Former India trainer Ramji Srinivasan, who has dealt with injuries like Bumrah's, told TOI that he agreed that if Bumrah was just stiff, he would be fit in time. He said that Bumrah did not seem to be in much trouble before flying from Australia. But, I cannot say anything with certainty. Because if the injury is a grade 1 to grade 3 stress fracture, it can take up to 6 months to heal.

So will Bumrah not play Champions Trophy and IPL?

Now it remains to be seen when Bumrah will enter the field. What is certain is that he is not playing the home series against England. But, will he miss the Champions Trophy too?
