Team India Selection: Which 15 players will get a chance in Team India, decision will be taken on this day, eyes on Bumrah-Shami

After the end of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Team India will remain away from the field for the next few days, but the impatience of the fans is still not decreasing. The reason is the T20-ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy. Team India is yet to be announced for both these series and tournaments and at present the discussion is revolving around which player will get a chance in the team for these matches. Its decision will be taken on January 11, when the Senior Men's Selection Committee will meet under the chairmanship of Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar in Mumbai and the team will be selected.

Champions Trophy is to be organized in Pakistan and UAE next month. Before that, Team India has to play 5 T20 matches and 3 ODI matches against England at home. According to the report, in the notice sent by BCCI to the selection committee, the selection of the squad only for the T20 series on January 11 has been mentioned. However, the squad for ODI series and Champions Trophy can also be announced on the same day. This is because the last date to send the squad to ICC for the Champions Trophy is January 12.

Most of the players who toured South Africa in November are likely to be selected for the T20 series. Yashasvi Jaiswal will return for this series, it will be worth watching. However, most eyes are on whether this young batsman will get a chance in the ODI team for the first time or not. Jaiswal had made his debut for India in Test and T20 in 2023 itself but he has not got a chance in ODI yet. If he gets a place for the ODI series, then it is certain that he will be selected in the Champions Trophy as well.

Apart from these, which two among KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson will be selected as wicketkeeper, it is also going to be interesting. But the most important question before the selection committee is the fitness of star fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Is Bumrah's injury so serious that he will be out of the ODI series and Champions Trophy? He can still be rested from the ODI series but will this back injury stop him from playing in the Champions Trophy? Cricket fans across the country will keep an eye on this.

If Bumrah is not fit, will the selection committee consider Mohammed Shami fit now? Shami has been out of Team India for more than a year. He was not even selected for the Australia tour because his knee started swelling during domestic cricket. Whether he will be fit to return to Team India or not, this is going to be very important for the expectations of the Indian team.
