The draft for the next season of Pakistan's popular T-20 league Pakistan Super League (PSL) was to be hosted in Gwadar, Pakistan on January 11. However, keeping in mind the problems faced by foreign coaches in reaching here and terrorism, the PSL Draft 2025 has been postponed. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has changed the date as well as the venue. Now another city of Pakistan has been finalized for the draft. There are many famous players in the PSL draft who can be seen playing in this T-20 league of Pakistan.

Gwadar is affected by terrorism

Let us tell you that Gwadar is a city and port in Balochistan, Pakistan. Terrorist attacks often take place in this area. In such a situation, this step has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the foreign coaches who were to come here for the PSL draft. Apart from this, there is also lack of proper means and airport to reach here. It is noteworthy that the American government has been advising not to travel here. At the same time, the UK government advises not to travel here unless it is absolutely necessary.

Draft could have taken place in London-Dubai also

Ali Jahangir Tareen, owner of PSL's Multan Sultans team, said regarding this matter, 'One day, we received a message in the PSL WhatsApp group that the draft will be held in Gwadar. It was asked whether this is final or just talks are going on. After some time we were told, 'A press release is coming in three minutes.' As soon as we were thinking about the options of London and Dubai, the message came 'Gwadar final'. Let us tell you that the Multan Sultans team includes three foreign coaches: Andy Flower, Richard Halsall and Catherine Dalton. Tareen realized that his team's coaches might face problems in traveling to Gwadar.

Draft will be held in Lahore on 13 January

After postponing the PSL draft from Gwadar, Lahore has been chosen to host the draft. Now the draft will be held on January 13 at Huzuri Bagh Fort in Lahore. David Warner, David Willey, Sean Abbott, Rassie van den Dussen, Shakib Al Hasan, James Neesham, Alex Carey and Usman Khawaja etc. have given their names for the draft.
