Sarfaraz Khan became rich, these 2 Indian players also earned, got so much money without playing in Australia

The Test series between India and Australia has ended, which host Australia won 3-1 and captured the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Many players of Team India could not perform well in this series, due to which there were changes in the playing eleven in every test and some players made their debut and some made a comeback. Despite this, there were 3 players who could not play a single match in this entire series. Despite this, these three players earned a lot. These 3 players are- Sarfaraz Khan, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Tanush Kotian.

In this series, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana made their Test debut for Team India. Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Prasidh Krishna also got a chance to play one match each. But Sarfaraz Khan and Abhimanyu Easwaran remained sitting on the bench, whereas both of them were also a part of the team since the beginning of the series. Whereas spin all-rounder Tanush Kotian was included in the team for the last 2 Tests due to the retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin after the Brisbane Test.

Even though these three did not get a chance to play, they also earned money. For playing a test match on behalf of BCCI, every player gets a match fee of Rs 15 lakh. At the same time, if a player is not able to make a place in the playing 11 even after being in the squad, then he also gets Rs 7.5 lakh for that match. But last year itself, BCCI had announced increase in match fees by starting the Test Incentive Scheme. Under this, for playing 50 percent Test in a Test season, the playing member will get Rs 30 lakh and the non-playing eleven member will get Rs 15 lakh. Whereas on playing 75 percent of the matches, the playing member gets Rs 45 lakh and the non-playing member gets Rs 22.5 lakh.

Accordingly, how much fee did Sarfaraz, Easwaran and Kotian get? Team India played 10 Tests this season, in which Sarfaraz was a part of 8 matches. That means he was a part of more than 75 percent of the match. Out of these, he remained sitting on the bench in 5 matches in Australia. In this context, for these 5 matches, he will get a fee of Rs 22.5 lakh for each match. In this way Sarfaraz will get Rs 1,12,50,000. Whereas Easwaran was available only for 5 matches which is 50 percent. In such a situation, instead of Rs 15 lakh, he will get Rs 75 lakh for 5 matches. As far as Kotian is concerned, he was part of the team for only 2 matches, hence he will not come under the incentive scheme. In such a situation, he will get Rs 7.5 lakh for every match and he is returning after earning Rs 15 lakh.
