Injuries to their leading players have badly impacted the Delhi Capitals. Kuldeep Yadav missed two matches and took three wickets on his return against Lucknow Super Giants. Now Mitchell Marsh, suffering from a hamstring injury, has left India to return to Australia for treatment.
He has a tear in his right hamstring. Marsh is the captain of Australia’s T20I team and left for home after discussing with the Delhi Capitals’ owners and management. However, the decision on his participation in the remaining games of the cash-rich league is still not confirmed.
He last played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 5 and missed the next two games against Mumbai Indians and LSG. His highest score in the season came against the Rajasthan Royals. He scored 23 runs, but his franchise lost the contest. He was dismissed for a duck in Delhi’s 106-run defeat against KKR.
Marsh has been sensational for Australia and won the Allan Border Medal for being Australia’s best male cricket performer.
Since January 2023, the 32-year-old has amassed 1,954 international runs in 38 matches at an average of 50.10, including three hundreds, and has also took ten wickets.
DC are also fretting over the finger injury to opener David Warner. He injured his finger while trying to take a catch in the match against LSG.
