Sydney: Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is reportedly preparing to retire from Test cricket after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series concludes in Sydney.

According to a report in the Times of India, the Indian skipper is expected to announce his decision after the final match of the series, marking an end to his tenure as captain in this format.

Sources indicate that discussions regarding Rohit's future in Test cricket have taken place between the Indian captain, BCCI officials, and the selectors. While the exact timing of his announcement remains unclear, it is anticipated to happen after the Sydney Test.

Despite widespread speculation about his retirement, it is also suggested that Rohit may seek to extend his Test career if India qualifies for theWorld Test Championship final.
