Team India is currently on Australia tour, where it is busy in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With the defeat in the Melbourne Test, Team India has lagged behind in this series. So far in this series, the performance of the two biggest names of the team, captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli, has been disappointing and questions are being raised on both. There are demands to drop both of them from the team. Amidst such poor form, now a big news is coming that both the star players will go on leave after returning from Australia and will not play in the ODI series against England. Apart from these two, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will also take a break from this series.

Will take break for workload management

On December 31, a day after Team India's crushing defeat in the Melbourne Test, a media report claimed that captain Rohit, Virat and Bumrah will not play in the ODI series against England to be held in February. It has been claimed in this report that in view of workload management, all three players will take a break from this series. In this way, all these three players will be on leave for the next one month after the Test match starting in Sydney from 3rd January and will return directly from the Champions Trophy starting from 19th February.

The England team is coming on India tour in January and during this, there will be a series of first 5 T20 matches between the two teams, which will start from January 22. After this, the 3 ODI match series will start from 6th February. Virat and Rohit have already retired from T20 International. In such a situation, he would not have been a part of this series anyway. However, it has also been claimed in the report that the selection committee will take the final decision regarding the playing of Rohit and Virat but as of now, both will not be a part of this series.

Last series before Champions Trophy

As far as Jasprit Bumrah is concerned, he is active in all three formats but has been playing Test cricket continuously for the last 3 months. In such a situation, it is certain that he will be given rest from this entire tour to keep him completely fresh and fit for a tournament like Champions Trophy. 3 ODI matches are to be played between India and England, which will be the last series of Team India before the Champions Trophy. Considering the kind of form Bumrah is in, it is not surprising to give him rest but after the recent performance of Rohit and Virat, questions are bound to be raised about them taking rest before the Champions Trophy.
